To pray rightly we must know why we exist. The four words of the first petition of the Lord’s Prayer raise several important questions.

Like exercise and a healthy diet, good works are good for us.

If God is all-knowing and all-powerful, he knew that Adam and Eve would fall into sin. So why did he allow Satan to tempt them? Why would he want this to happen to his creation?

The start of the second part of the catechism—on believers’ redemption in Christ—might not seem as invigorating as you would expect. It feels cautious as it explores the possibility of redemption.
