Why Does God Seem Different Before and After Christ Came?
From the Show
Why does the God of the Old Testament seem so different than the God of love in the New Testament?
If you have problems with the God of the Old Testament…you're going to have real trouble with the God of the New Testament, who's the same God, our Lord Jesus Christ, who is coming on the clouds to judge the world. Jesus spoke about hell more than anybody in the whole Bible, and that is going to be global judgment, that's not going to be limited to one place [like in the Old Testament]. In Christ, God the Father created the world. Jesus, along with the Father and the Holy Spirit, is the creator. He is the God of the Old Testament. God the Father is also the God of the New Testament, who tells us that he so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. It's always been God the Father, in his Son, by His Holy Spirit, bringing about the promise of everlasting salvation for all who trust in Jesus. — Michael Horton
