How Can We Know That Jesus Won’t Say He Never Knew Us?
From the Show
Does our love make a difference in God's love for us?
Our love does not make a difference in God's love for us. And isn't that wonderful news. We're told, for example, in 1 John 4:10 “In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins." I love the statement that was made centuries ago by Augustine. He said "God does not look for someone to love. He does not love us because we are lovely. Rather in loving us he makes us lovely." It's because God is lovely. It's because he's beautiful. It's because he's tender and kind and gracious, not because we are, that he loves us. — Michael Horton
