Is focusing on the gospel really enough to lead a godly life or do you think that Christians also need the law?

We will not find any mercy from the law, we will not find any forgiveness from the law. The law just tells us how far we have fallen from the glory of God, it tells us what God requires. But then, being justified by Christ, having that good news about what God has done for us in Christ announced, then the law is no longer terrifying. The law is no longer threatening us, but rather guiding us. It has no power to condemn, but it still has the authority to tell us what God expects of those who are justified, who are new creatures in Christ, by His grace alone, through faith alone. — Michael Horton
