Core Christianity: Tough Questions Answered

How Do I Calm My Anxiety Amidst the Coronavirus?

aired April 14, 2020

Episode 422 Show Notes

From the Show

What Satan was trying to do was to get Jesus to go around the cross, immediately to glory. Jesus knew he had to come to the cross and after the cross, glory. He had to first endure the pain and suffering. He had to bear our sin and guilt before he could be raised on the third day in glory.

Questions in this Episode

1. What do you think of the idea that the sons of God in Genesis 6 are angels in light of Hebrews? Isn't it more coherent to think of them as descendants of Seth?

2. You guys recently answered a question of mine so I don’t know if I’m hogging the airtime, but here’s my question: This COVID-19 virus started with the Chinese eating bats in Wuhan, China. How does that fit I with what the Lord Jesus told Peter in Acts 10:9–16, that all animals are clean to eat? Thanks! Love you both brothers!”

3. I'm from the UK and listen regularly to your podcast on Spotify. Thank you for your insight and help to understand the Scriptures. In this time of fear and anxiety as the coronavirus continues to ravage so many countries, what can Christians take from Psalm 91, will we be spared from this 'plague'? I am a frontline worker in the health service. Thank you for your thoughts.

4. I was talking to one of my good brothers and we were talking about the Hebrews 6:4–6 passage. And I wanted to get your take on it. Are we able to lose our salvation?
