Episode 62 Show Notes
Finding Real Encouragement in God's Word
From the Show
What are some of the practical ways a church should strive to reach out to their community?
I am struck constantly by Jesus. He is invited to a religious leader’s home and they are criticising him for hanging out with and showing hospitality towards the outcasts. And Jesus just starts berating them for their table manners, for having the seat assignments according to the hierarchy of the people who can do you the most good. And he says, “when you have a feast, disciples, don’t invite those who can repay you…no, what have I done for you? The first will be last and the last will be first. I have put you at my table; not because you deserve it; not because you’re more powerful or you’re holier or your more righteous but precisely because you’re needy." —Michael Horton
