Core Christianity: Tough Questions Answered

Does the Bible Teach that Heaven Will Ultimately Be Destroyed?

aired September 24, 2019

Episode 277 Show Notes

From the Show

The final judgment itself is the cataclysm, it’s this fire where works will be exposed, everything will be judged, the works that are kind of under the crust will be cut open and revealed, exposed. And so those who don’t belong to Christ will be condemned to that everlasting fire.

— Michael Horton

Questions in this Episode

1. I’m confused about the unpardonable sin. How does it fit with Jesus saying that whoever comes to me, I will not cast out? It seems like the gospel is offered to everyone without exception but if you commit the unpardonable sin, where does that leave you?

2. Should we think of Jesus’ ministry of miracles and healings as just proving that he was God? Or does Jesus’ ministry have a greater meaning somehow connected to his death?

3. My question is dealing with 1 Peter 1:17. It makes me not want to pray. Can you give me some help and guidance?

4. I’m confused about the end times. Does 2 Peter 3:10 teach that heaven will be burned up and destroyed?
