Some people say that traditional, biblical Christianity is too other-worldly. Of what use is spirituality in a world of hurting people? Fair question. But it misses God’s concern for both our spiritual and material lives.

Troubles can deflate us. They can tempt us to wonder if God has forsaken us and whether living godly is worth the pain that often follows.

What do finances have to do with faithfulness?

We are tempted to harmonize the message of the Bible with the attitude of our age. But if we aren’t clashing with the world for speaking God’s truth and doing good, we are unrecognizably different from our Lord and from his first followers.

This world needs to be restored. We long for “times of refreshing.”
